Ukrainian Artist Marina Stognieva
Born in Luhansk region, studied at Starobilsk gymnasium, received higher education at the Institute of Culture and Arts. In 2019, she continued her studies in Florence, Italy, at the Michelangelo Academy of Arts. Since 2014, the artist has lived and worked in Kyiv. She is the author of over 350 paintings. Marina works in various techniques, using oil, acrylic, watercolour paints and other materials.
During the war period of 2023–2024, she taught painting to children and adults in the capital's library, conducted charity classes for children whose parents defend Ukraine, and was also the curator of the exhibition at which these works were exhibited. The artist is an active participant in the cultural life of the capital: she participates in exhibitions at the House of the Artist, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Mytets art gallery, and is also an invited participant in international exhibitions around the world. Since 2022, a permanent exhibition of the artist has been open in Kyiv, in the library on Priorka.
Awarded diplomas and certificates for her contribution to the development of Ukrainian art.
In November 2024, due to the escalation of hostilities in the Motherland, she moved to the UK, where she continues her artistic activities and implements projects important for Ukrainian society.
In 2022, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Stognieva has been constantly reminding the whole world of the crimes committed by the terrorist country.
