In this work, the artist turns to one of the most recognisable images of French Provence — endless lavender fields stretching towards the horizon. Violet rows lead the eye deep into the composition, towards a small stone house, slender cypress trees, and the silhouette of mountains in the distance.

The composition is structured to create a sense of travelling through the lavender field. Pale paths between the rows of flowers guide the viewer towards the architecture in the centre, while the vertical cypress trees introduce a characteristic Mediterranean rhythm to the landscape.

Texture plays a particularly important role in the painting. Thick, expressive acrylic brushstrokes create a relief on the surface of the canvas, giving the lavender fields, sky, buildings, and mountain slopes a sense of movement and physical presence.
