This painting is a warm memory of Ukrainian family traditions at the turn of the century.
“Millennium in Ukrainian Style” is an original oil painting on paper by Ukrainian artist Marina Stognieva.
The artwork depicts a Christmas and New Year family gathering around a festive table filled with traditional Ukrainian dishes, champagne, a glowing Christmas tree and soft lamplight. Outside the window, carol singers with a Christmas star bring back the atmosphere of childhood, folk rituals and the beginning of a new millennium.
This piece is part of the author’s project “Picturesque Guide to Ukraine”, dedicated to Ukrainian culture and festive traditions, where each painting preserves a living story about family, heritage and celebration.
