The Story Behind the Painting
"Seashells" is an original watercolor painting by Ukrainian artist Marina Stognieva, created in 2022. The artwork is part of the author's cultural project "Picturesque Guide to Ukraine", a collection of paintings introducing viewers to Ukraine's landscapes, history, traditions and natural beauty through fine art. This watercolor belongs to the Crimea chapter of the project.
Seashells are tiny treasures left behind by the sea after every tide. They preserve the memory of rolling waves, salty breezes, warm sunshine and peaceful walks along the coast. These simple gifts of nature became the inspiration for this delicate watercolor composition.

Against a light turquoise background, the artist depicts three symbols of the sea: two beautiful seashells and a starfish.
