The Story Behind the Painting

“Positano Terrace” is an original painting by Ukrainian artist Marina Stognieva, created in 2021. The work is painted in acrylic on canvas and measures 75 × 95 cm.

The painting opens onto a sunlit view from a cosy terrace in Positano. The sea shimmers beneath the bright sky, while flowers, café tables, and the relaxed atmosphere of the terrace create the feeling of an unhurried Mediterranean day.

Positano is a place where architecture, sea, and southern light combine almost like a stage set. In this work, Marina Stognieva focuses not only on the location itself, but on the feeling of being there — as though the viewer is seated at a table on the terrace, looking out toward the sea.

The composition is arranged so that the eye moves gradually from the nearby objects — tables, chairs, and flowers — toward the open coastline beyond. Warm pink, red, and cream tones in the foreground contrast with the blues of the sea and sky, creating the sensation of a bright Italian day.

“Positano Terrace” is an original artwork by Marina Stognieva, created by hand in acrylic on canvas. It is a unique one-of-a-kind work in a large 75 × 95 cm format.

For convenient and safe transportation, the original canvas is removed from the stretcher bars, carefully rolled, and shipped in a protective tube. After delivery, the canvas can be professionally re-stretched onto new stretcher bars by a local framing or art studio.
