"The Sun Melted into the Sea. Sailboats at Sunset" is an original acrylic painting by Ukrainian artist Marina Stognieva, created in 2021. The artwork is part of the author's cultural project "Picturesque Guide to Ukraine" and represents the Crimea chapter of this artistic journey through Ukraine.

The painting captures one of those unforgettable moments when the sun slowly disappears beyond the horizon and seems to melt into the sea. The evening sky bursts into glowing shades of crimson, orange, gold, violet and deep blue, while the sea reflects the fading light in thousands of shimmering colours.

Several elegant sailboats glide across the calm evening sea. Their sails catch the last rays of sunlight and glow in luminous shades of gold, peach, soft pink and turquoise. The brilliant golden sail in the centre becomes the emotional heart of the composition, drawing the viewer's eye across the canvas.

The boats appear almost weightless as they move toward the distant horizon. They symbolize freedom, travel, hope and the courage to continue moving forward.
