“Male Buttocks” is an original figurative drawing by Ukrainian artist Marina Stognieva, created on 200 gsm paper. The artwork measures 15 × 20 cm and focuses on a particular detail of the human figure, transforming it into an independent artistic subject.

At the centre of the composition is a male figure seen from behind. The artist deliberately leaves the face outside the image and concentrates instead on the plasticity of the body, its curves, proportions, and rhythm of lines. In this way, an individual detail of human anatomy becomes an independent subject of observation — just as worthy of artistic attention as a portrait or a landscape.

Fishnet stockings play an important role in the composition. Rather than concealing the body, they emphasise its form and introduce an additional graphic rhythm. The geometric pattern of the fishnet crosses the softer lines of the human figure, giving the image contrast, sensuality, and a distinctly contemporary character.

At the same time, the image touches on the idea of freedom of self-expression. Clothing does not necessarily have to conform to conventional expectations of what a man or a woman is supposed to wear.
