“Autumn changes a familiar landscape almost every day — the light becomes softer, the colours deeper, and an ordinary road, river or old castle suddenly takes on an entirely different mood.”

Autumn in my painting never has just one mood. It can be golden and sunlit, quiet and contemplative, filled with rain, mist or the last warmth before winter. It is in autumn that I feel most strongly how light can completely transform a familiar place.

This series brings together autumn landscapes from Ukraine, England and Europe, painted in different years. Rivers, parks, old castles and city scenes become more than images of places — they preserve a fleeting moment and the atmosphere of the season.
